So, this is what it feels like. Smack dab in the middle of my teenage life. Two things - I can drive and I can get a job. I was expecting excitement, but my sixteenth birthday was surprisingly underwhelming. I mean, everybody says that it's so great, but the whole day today I was just waiting for something awesome to happen, but nothing really did. I'm not saying that my birthday sucked - two of my best friends had lunch with me and it was really nice of them. I even went for a drive in solitude for a while, just to hear myself think. Have I really put myself on autopilot for this long? Have I not been fully conscious during my every day life? I don't get it - I can't even count how many of my friends wished me a happy birthday today, and I still don't feel like I've changed.

I think my less-than-wow birthday symbolizes this year. I've been thinking a lot about this year, and it has been terribly boring. I don't even feel driven to make amazing grades anymore. Last year, I kept thinking "What's next? What's next?" and this year I keep thinking, "When is it over?" Am I alone here or is what I'm feeling justifiable?
